Our Little Joe raises money for rescued horses and ponies residing at Cecil's Horse Sanctuary in Elstree. Cecil's aims to relieve the suffering of horses and ponies, who may be old, neglected, abandoned or otherwise, in need of care and attention. Many of the residents go to them with physical and/or mental health problems – some requiring special diets or ongoing medical treatment.

The ponies live together in herds and spend the day with their friends eating, sleeping, drinking and playing. They are fed, watered, cared for and loved in a forever home by founder Julie and the volunteers. The sanctuary relies entirely on donations, events, open days and the hard work of the team. £1 per bag will be donated to support their amazing sanctuary.

Origin: Brazil
Farm: Mió
Yellow Catucaí

The town of Monte Santo has a strong carnival tradition which has been celebrated every year since 1930 and is the inspiration behind the name for this lot of coffee. The town's streets close and rival groups, Braz and Belem, battle it out in parades adorned in sensational party costumes.

The farm spans a total of 1,589 hectares. A third of the land is used for the coffee processing and milling facilities, some pasture areas and the plantation of eucalyptus trees, which is home to some lovely bees. The rest of the land is equally divided between the coffee trees and the native forest reserve. With plenty of spring water in the estate, one of Mió’s responsibilities is to not only maintain the water flow but to also improve water quality.

Little Joe is the perfect breakfast coffee. A beautifully balanced brew where you can expect a fudge-like sweetness, delicate notes of candied cherry, and a long chocolatey finish. Perfect by itself but absolutely brilliant paired with your favourite milk (our favourite is oat!).
