Expect Notes of Raspberry Jam, Lemon & Bergamot.
Our Sweet Dionne raises money for rescue ex-racing greyhounds at Wimbledon Greyhound Welfare. This coffee is named after Sanctuary's own 'Hersham Hound', Dionne, who would not be with us if it were not for Carol and the team! All their Greyhounds are expertly matched to new homes or given a forever home at their sanctuary. £1 per bag will be donated to support their incredible charity.
Cultivar: Local Landraces
This season, Sweet Dionne is made up from a wonderful coffee from Asefa in the Sidama region of Ethiopia - and we are really excited to share this with you. Asefa is packed with vibrant red fruit notes with a lovely jammy mouthfeel, finished with lemon and bergamot that is so true to iconic Ethiopian form.
Asefa is located at the heart of Shantawene Village with in 10km of Daye town in the midst of natural forest and indigenous trees which are expected to be older than 200 years.
The farm is at the reachable distance to out-growers in Bombe, Shantawene and Keramo villages. It is surrounded by rivers separating Shantawene from Bombe which runs from the hills above Karamo. To maintain natural shades and the fertility of the soil with consultancy of expertise from the ministry of agriculture, various shade trees are planted on the farm.
Along with out-growers’ farms it is verified as Organic, C.A.F.E PRACTICE , UTZ and Rain Forest Alliances.
