Dark Chocolate · Toffee · Walnut — Delivered Fresh, Every Time.

Sanctuary Coffee's Dark Espresso is our nod to classic coffee. It's rich, full-bodied and brimming with nostalgia.

Dark roasted to emphasise a creamier tactile experience, whilst simultaneously muting acidity to give way for a bold, chocolate-forward profile.

It's family around the breakfast table. It's French Press. It's exactly the type of coffee we grew up to know and love. For us, a darker coffee has a special place in the kitchen cupboard.

Whilst innovation continues to drive coffee forward to new horizons, its roots are back in time and back at home.

Available in 250 (letterbox-friendly), 2× 250, or 1KG, across whole bean, Aeropress, espresso, filter, and cafetière grinds.

Coffee is a story.

Story

O’Coffee sits in the Pedregulho region of Alta Mogiana, São Paulo—one of Brazil’s oldest and most renowned coffee-growing territories. The story of O’Coffee is defined by a transformation: taking large-scale Brazilian agricultural heritage and elevating it into precision specialty coffee through sustainable innovation and meticulous craft.

The history of the land dates back to 1890, when the original estates were first established in the mineral-rich, high-altitude hills of Alta Mogiana. For generations, the volcanic soils, ideal rain cycles, and warm microclimates made the area a powerhouse for Brazilian coffee. However, the modern chapter began when these historic farms were united under the O’Coffee umbrella (part of the Octavio Café group), driven by a single vision: to prove that large-scale Brazilian producers could achieve the same cup quality, traceability, and delicate acidity usually reserved for tiny micro-lots.

Today, O’Coffee spans six interconnected fazendas—including the flagship Fazenda Nossa Senhora Aparecida—covering thousands of hectares of micro-climates at altitudes reaching up to 1,000 meters above sea level. Instead of relying purely on volume, O’Coffee mapped their terrain into distinct micro-terroirs, planting tailored varietals like Yellow and Red Bourbon, Catuaí, and rare cultivars like Arara across specific plots where soil composition and sun exposure could bring out their absolute best.

Today, O’Coffee represents the modern pinnacle of Brazilian coffee: deeply rooted in century-old heritage, yet globally recognized for producing complex, sweet, and impeccably clean specialty coffees that showcase the true potential of Alta Mogiana.

Processing

This lot hails from the rolling, high-altitude hills of Minas Gerais, the heartland of Brazilian specialty coffee.

Cultivated in nutrient-dense soil, this coffee highlights Arara—a naturally occurring hybrid celebrated for its striking yellow cherries, exceptional disease resistance, and high sugar content. Thanks to the varietal’s extended ripening period on the tree, the cherries develop a dense concentration of natural sugars, laying the foundation for a deeply sweet and complex cup. Processed using the traditional Natural method, the harvested cherries are laid out intact on drying beds. Allowed to dry slowly inside their fruit skins under the gentle Brazilian sun, the sticky outer mucilage ferments naturally around the seed.

This painstaking, sun-cured approach infuses the bean with rich fruit sugars, amplifying the coffee's inherent sweetness, building a plush, velvet-like body, and yielding an impeccably clean overall cup. The result is a coffee of decadent warmth and rich complexity, bringing forward indulgence in every sip with rich dark chocolate and buttery toffee, framed by a warm, lingering finish of walnut. Heavy-bodied, smooth, and deeply comforting, this natural Arara offers a classic yet elevated drinking experience that exemplifies the modern pinnacle of Brazilian coffee craftsmanship.
